Résumé: The article is devoted to electronic money, in particular-cryptocurrency-one of the important mechanisms of formation and development of the digital economy. The concept and main features of cryptocurrency are given. The most popular types of cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin) are given, the concept of Blockchain (block chain) is considered. In conclusion, it is concluded that the cryptocurrency will strengthen its position in the currency market.
