Европейский Союз как континентальный блок и геополитический актор

Abstract

Выделяются и анализируются этапы континентального блока в Европе, представленного в настоящее время Европейским союзом. Цель статьи – выявить ключевые тенденции развития и интересы ЕС как континентального блока в условиях глобальной конкуренции и региональных конфликтов конца ХХ – первой четверти ХХI в. Методологическую базу статьи составляют системный, структурно-функциональный и исторический методы. В статье обосновывается, что формирование Европейского союза по модели континентального блока отражает попытку западноевропейских стран создать самостоятельный геополитический центр силы, повысить свою роль в мировой политике, расширить экономическую экспансию на территорию России и стран постсоветского пространства. Делается вывод, что будущее ЕС как континентального блока будет зависеть от способности европейских элит к консолидации и преодолению внутренних кризисных явлений, а также от возможности сохранения глобальной конкурентоспособности ЕС.

The article highlights and analyzes the stages of the formation of the continental bloc in Europe, currently represented by the European Union. The purpose of the article is to identify key development trends and interests of the EU as a continental bloc in the context of global competition and regional conflicts of the late 20th – first quarter of the 21st centuries. The methodological basis of the article is systemic, structuralfunctional and historical methods. It is substantiated that the formation of the European Union according to the model of the continental bloc reflects the attempt of Western European countries to create an independent geopolitical center of power, increase their role in world politics, and expand economic expansion to the territory of Russia and the post-Soviet countries. It is concluded that the future of the EU as a continental bloc will depend on the ability of European elites to consolidate and overcome internal crises, as well as on the possibility of maintaining the EU´s global competitiveness.
